A Look At The Hubble Space Telescope
The Hubble Space Telescope fascinates both children and adults. It’s capable of capturing images deep out into space, and orbits the earth every 96 minutes. The Hubble is a fascinating piece of technology that has been the pride and joy of NASA for years.
Like any microscope, there are mirrors on the Hubble, but on a much larger scale. When compared to a human, the mirrors on the telescope stand about 8 feet tall. What’s interesting is that the successor to the Hubble has mirrors that are 21 feet tall, meaning it will be much more powerful.
Other parts of the telescope include a light shield to block unwanted external light, and solar arrays to convert sunlight into electricity. The sun always shines in space, so there’s no shortage of power.
