Mint Infographic: Life After College
Life after college can be exciting and scary at the same time. You’re no longer a student, and you’ll now have some real life choices to make. How will you support yourself? Will you find a job in the field that you’re educated in? Where will you live?
Believe it or not, most students nowadays go back home after college. It’s acceptable as you’re just starting your life and will need to find a steady job before venturing off on your own. For some kids though, this just won’t work. That’s when it’s time to scour Craigslist and look for an apartment.
When it comes to finances, life after college can be just plain hard. Saving will become your middle name until you find work. This means no splurging on expensive monthly subscriptions to music and snack boxes. Keep credit card debt to a minimum, and start investing as soon as possible.
Most college graduates have heavy social lives, and that’s OK as long as it doesn’t interfere with your ability to go out and look for work. It’s good to meet with friends and network as much as possible. You’ll never know what connection leads to your next new gig.
