From the time her career began, to her untimely death, Whitney Houston has been the center of attention for various reasons; some good and some bad. Her outstanding career has fascinated and captivated both fans and critics, making her one of the most loved celebrities of all times.
After the media announced her death, within an hour there were over 2 million tweets commemorating her life and paying homage to the singer. Her fans, other celebrities, and even politicians all came together to celebrate her life, and send their public condolences to the family.
Born in 1963, the singer began her career at church, singing her first choir solo at the age of eleven. By 1978, she was singing backup for Chaka Kahn and the rest is pretty much history. Whitney Houston’s career launched in the early 1980’s with the hit single “Saving All My Love for You”.
Later on in her career, she married singer Bobby Brown. During the marriage, she battled drug addiction, and became a regular in the tabloids. She later recovered, divorced, and was putting her career back together when she died suddenly. Her comeback album, sold 2.5 million copies worldwide. Whitney Houston was found dead in her hotel room one day before the Grammy Awards show. She was 48 years old.
