UPS is known as one of the world’s leading package delivery companies. The entity was founded in 1907 and has since grown into a global provider of various specialized transportation services. Over the years, UPS has seen time and time again how their company can help other companies save money through smart shipping options. Their goal was to educate small and large companies on the benefits of smart shipping as well as provide tips and advice relating to lowering shipping-related expenses and improving companies’ bottom lines. In 2014, Amazon spent a whopping $4.223 billion on shipping. This means its shipping costs accounted for about 4.7 percent of its net sales. With shipping costing such an enormous amount of money, it only makes sense that companies should be taking advantage of smart shipping programs, such as the one offered through UPS. The company also had a goal of showing the factors that a worthwhile shipping company will feature, including branding, transparency, memorability, promotion, and social sharing aspects.
Based on our client’s goal, we suggested the creation of an infographic that showcased UPS’s top benefits through a variety of illustrated statistics. Our researchers and designers went straight to work and discovered a plethora of statistics relating to the shipping industry and how shipping options influence shoppers’ purchasing decisions. The infographic highlighted the fact that 66 percent of online shoppers choose to abandon their carts because of high shipping costs along with multiple other interesting statistics. Ultimately, we were able to create an infographic that gave character and excitement to a common place topic that most businesses don’t think twice about. By outlining all the evidence for smart shipping programs, we were able to effectively show companies why they need to be taking advantage of smart shipping programs, including those offered through UPS. The success of the infographic was enormous. In fact, it was so well-received that it was featured in INC magazine. Working with UPS was a pleasure and was another chance to prove we are able to exceed our clients’ expectations time and time again.
